Does a cultured marble shower pan look cheap?
we’re remodeling our bathroom; removing the tub/shower and putting in a doorless perambulate in shower.
The walls and floor of the batheroom are being tiled (a stone colored 12 x 12 tile with criticize colored veining); we’re considering (and our contractor is offer although he’ll do irrespectively we would like) putting in a cultured marble shower pan; we have the ability to have the pan blended to a criticize color with stone veining; the stone color of the tile was as well hard to match); do you suppose this will look cheap in contrast and comparison to the tile somewhere else?

if it saves you money then do it
if you are doing this only because you’re selling your house then i would ask a house staging professional or r/e professional what s/he thinks

I am currently having my contractor install a cultured marble shower pan, bench top, and soap dishes surrounded by ceramic tile much as you have described. The shower pan and bench top were delivered yesterday. We had selected three colors for the cultured marble to coordinate with our variegated porcelain tile so that the color scheme would be somewhat consistent. I am extremely disappointed in the appearance of the cultured marble pieces which were delivered because the manufacturer did not create a nature, marble-like swirling effect as expected. It looks like someone tried to clean a paint brush which caused brown and white paint strokes permanently stained on my shower floor. The answer to your question depends on the artistic skills and mixing quality of your cultured marble manufacturer to achieve the veining appearance of nature marble. Showroom examples are not necessarily representative of a finished cultured marble product. I am now planning to try replacement pieces with only two tones in an effort to get a better result. My recommendation is to avoid strong contrasting colors in the cultured marble pieces, or perhaps stay with a solid color like the grout.
